Mining Templates

M-Power has been working in the mining sector for over 7 years and is arguably the most experienced provider of mining specific Performance Management and Business Intelligence solutions in APAC and beyond. We work with some of the world’s largest mining companies delivering a range of industry focused projects from global roll outs to point solutions for individual mine sites. Our ever growing commodity experience embraces Gold, Copper, Zinc, Coal, Diamonds and Iron Ore.

Based on our detailed knowledge in this sector M-Power has developed a set of pre-built templates which we deploy on top of Hyperion Planning. The templates, which have been developed in partnership with our customers, conform to industry best practices and give you a significant head start when delivering or extending your own Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting solutions.

The templates, which we supply free of charge, cover the following key areas:

• Physicals. Used to capture and derive both actual and plan information covering the end to end mining process, Exploration, Mine, Process, Transport and Sales.
• Opex. A driver based planning solution linked to the physicals. Actuals are uploaded ex ERP allowing variance analysis, typically at cost centre / account code detail by site.
• Workforce. Typically a position based planning capability. Users enter headcount, the model references various assumptions to derive total cost of employment. Tight integration with your HR system delivers actual data facilitating variance analysis.
• Capex. From when a project is 1^st conceived during the long term budget cycle, through the various approval and execution phases, our capex module provides a single reference point for planning and reporting actual v plan.
• Financials. P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow solution linked to the other modules above. Cash flow component used by most to derive actual as well as plan. Also includes stockpile valuation, again used by most clients for both actual and plan.
• Daily Physicals. Stand alone component designed to answer what happened yesterday, where are we at this month, how is our grade trending the last 10 days etc.
• Maintenance. Integrated with your maintenance system and the mine plan, uses the scheduled tasks to project mobile fleet and process plant downtime and associated costs.

Most clients leverage the templates capability across life of mine, with the option to assess different operational strategies and see the impact flow through to financials. Importantly we understand that every company is different and a "one size fits all" approach is not practical. Typically we'd expect 80% of your needs to be met by our templates.
