Steve and Barry have been selected to present at this years Insync10 event,  the topic - One and one makes three – HFM and Planning, what are the benefits of deploying HFM and Planning together and how would you do it?

It is an interesting and somewhat puzzling statistic that more companies in Australia have implemented HFM OR Planning than have HFM AND Planning.  Why is this?  What opportunities, if any, are organisations potentially missing?

This presentation will look at the differences and similarities of the two heavy weights in the Hyperion camp, HFM and Planning.  It will give you an overview of what they were designed for and what organisations actually use them for, in the process we’ll answer questions like:

• We only have limited financial consolidation requirements; can Hyperion Planning cover this requirement for us?
• Our budgeting needs are simple, why don’t we just use HFM, we’ve bought it already!
• We thought HFM and Planning covered similar things, how do you decide if you need both and what do each of them do?
• Can you implement HFM and Planning at the same time and why would you bother?

The presentation will draw on real world case studies from Lihir Gold, Cliffs Natural Resources and OZ Minerals.  We will look at why they deployed HFM and Planning, which product did they implement first and why, what benefits did they achieve and what were the challenges they faced.

The presentation will close with an insight into the strategic questions you should consider before making a decision to implement HFM and Planning and most importantly which product you should use for which task.
